Great days Wizard!

On 15 June 2023, after being awarded the Innovative Award from the Level 99 Game Jam, I've decided to implement a co-op multiplayer mode. It was part of the original intention for the game. However, due to the tight game jam schedule, I'm unable to do so. Today, I'm proud to present Woolala Wowlala: Multiplayer Mode!

Any player can create a lobby and invite up to eight friends to join. Now, you can sing and chant woolala-wowlala with your friends! Imagine a Discord voice party where everyone is screaming and chanting "woolala-wowlala". Funny isn't it?
 

Besides that, I've also taken the time to implement a microphone detection feature on the main menu. It will show your default microphone and prompt you to change it on Windows if need to. Additionally, it can also detect if you have enabled microphone permission; and prompt you to enable it before playing the game.

Another small update is that I finally have the time to update the character from a cube-like robot into a wizard-looking character. Haha, it took me quite a while.

Technical Details

This is a free game and hence I utilized the Unity Gaming Services free tier. Thank to their generous offer, we get an amazing 50 CCU relay server, all around the world. In fact, as someone from Singapore, I'm so glad that they have a relay server in Singapore. Developing and play-testing the game with close to 0ms is like living in the future! Try it out and let me know!

Future Plan

Unfortunately, due to the implementation of Relay Server, I've had to disable the leaderboard functionality. I hope to patch it up and release it soon. I'll also work on new spells that enhance the multiplayer experience, such as, "May he/she be alive again" and "Healing Aura~!". Finally, I might also implement proximity voice chat so that the game will be more immersive. See you in-game!
